

Bennie was born on June 29, 1942, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the son of Carita Beers and Bennie Horton Sr.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Mae Horton; Mother, Carita Beers; father, Bennie Horton Sr.; sister, Debrah and brother, Glenn.
He graduated from Niagara Falls High School, and later Buffalo Bible Institute. Bennie worked for General Motors for twenty-five years and spent most of his adult life as an Outreach Minister in the church helping the homeless, and encouraging his family to get closer to God.
Bennie is survived by his daughter, Lisa Horton-Thomas; son, Bennie Horton III; daughter, Cheryl Horton; son, Bobby Horton; son, Billy Horton; thirteen grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Bennie will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Walk By Faith Christian, 1728 E Pueblo Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85040. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
The family would like to thank his best friend Richard and his family, and well as his ex-son-in-law, Marcellus Thomas for the care and compassion they showed Bennie in his final days.
