

Bill "Gene" Hardin, age 80, died peacefully April 6, 2017. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho and grew up in Mertaugh, Idaho. He joined the United States Marine Corps out of high school serving two years as a radio operator. Upon his discharge, as a Sargent in the Marine Corps, Gene joined his parents in Phoenix and worked in the Glass Shop for his stepdad. He then went to work for Salt River Project as a painter retiring after 20 plus years of service. Gene was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved his Honda motorcycle and country dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. Gene is survived by wife Carol; sons Floyd, David and Christopher Liska; grandchildren Sandra Marie Gray, Shandra Foster, David & William Hardin and Parker & Piper Liska; great grandchildren McKenzie & Lexi Gray, Destiny Foster and Donald Clay Hardin. When he married wife Carol, he was also blessed with step daughters Sherry Williams, Linda Waldrep and Sandra Brown; step grandchildren Tim & Jason Waldrep, Drew Brown and Skylar Williams; and step great grandchildren Colby, Peyton, Piper, Chase, Jaxson, Macie and Kali Waldrep and Tucker & Rayah Brown. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00am, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Salt River Project PERA Club, 1 East Continental Drive, Tempe, Arizona 85281.
