

Bill J. Hobbs (Wild Bill), age 75, passed away on January 11, 2011. Bill was born on April 29, 1935 in Valley View, Texas. In 1946, his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and opened Hobb’s Market at 7th Avenue and Cambelback. He attended West High School and worked at the Arizona Republic, first as a paperboy, then as a route manager. In 1957, he married Martha (Lowe) Hobbs and had 3 children. In 1961, he went to work for State Farm Insurance as an agent. He was an agent for 49 years at 2715 E. Indian School Rd in Phoenix. Also, he was a longtime member of the Camelback Lions Club. In 1981 he married Luline (Trent) Hobbs with 3 children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luline, stepson, Greg and grandchild, Matthew Lanman. He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Fuller) Hobbs, her children, Hallie, Jason and Erin, his children, Rick (Bev), Steve, Chris, Cary, Lynn and Matt, grandchildren, Cierra, Cari, Kevin (Jessica), Jamie and Chris, many grandchildren and brother, Bob Hobbs. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009. There will be a Celebration of Life reception to follow at 6308 W. Parkside Lane, Glendale, AZ 85310. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Reunion Community Church, 15002 N. 25th Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85023 or Camelback Lions Club.
