She was united in marriage to Richard Leo Brown on October 20, 1947 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1993. She raised seven children while residing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Carol worked over forty years in the medical insurance business at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and later at Western Radiation Oncology when she relocated to Phoenix, Arizona.
Family was Carol’s passion and delight. She loved hikes to collect rocks, playing bingo with her daughters and watching football and baseball games. Even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.
