With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Rees, 88 on Friday, June 7, 2024. Born Carolyn Durham on July 4, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio. She met her husband, Donald Rees, while studying nursing at Ohio State University, and they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on June 11th. Carolyn had five children, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Don (Donny) Rees, and survived by husband Donald, daughters Shirl Hamm, Patty Stoddard, Julie Vescio, and son Gary Rees. Donald and Carolyn moved from Dayton, Ohio to Arizona in 1981 and lived in Scottsdale and Phoenix. The last fourteen years have been spent at Sagewood Retirement Community in Phoenix, where she had many wonderful friends. Throughout her adult life, Carolyn enjoyed traveling and activities such as tennis and ping-pong. She was a lifelong avid bridge player and often played in duplicate bridge tournaments. Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends
