Cecilia Ann 'Ruby' Peake, age 77, passed away to be with our blessed Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Exiquo and Adela Calles, and all of her 13 brothers and sisters except for one. She is survived by her husband, Sam Peake; sister Virginia Martel; children Diana Lee Ruiz, Jacque Stevens and Rick Dominguez; step daughter Beth Aust; nine grandchildren; eight great granchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends. Ruby was born in Phoenix, AZ March 2, 1938, the youngest of 13 children. She grew up to be an amazing business woman with music at the heart of everything. In 1960, she (along with Lee Dominguez and Sam Peake) started her very successful business called the "Arizona Music Center". It quickly became the hot spot in music for the valley and she and the store helped aspiring musicians everywhere start their music careers right in their very store. We still hear all the wonderful stories to this day. Ruby had three beautiful children in which she made sure to pass on her passion for music. In 1998, she married her husband, Sam Peake. They have been happily married for 17 years. Ruby was an active member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) and was recognized on several occasions for leadership in the business world. After working in the music world, she transitioned into working for the Arizona Republic and was with them for 17 years. Aside from her talent for business and absolute passion for music, she loved her family tremendously and doted on them every chance she got. She loved playing bunco with her friends; she loved going to church; she loved shopping; and she was a patriot. Services will be held to honor her life as follows: Visitation - 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, June 4, 2015 in the Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009.
