Chanson Almar Shells was born in Decatur, Illinois on February 29, 1984. Chanson moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended South Mountain High School. While at South Mountain High School he earned his pilot’s license. After graduating high school he attended Arizona State University where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and studied in Costa Rica. Chanson enjoyed traveling and helping others through volunteer work and working at ASU. Chanson passed away in Anchorage, Alaska on November 26, 2015. Chanson leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Adrienne; mother, Shawn Jelks; father Vendies Shells, Sr.; brothers Vendies Jr., Julian, and Patrick; sisters Brea and TeNica; grandmothers Annie Shells Spates and Mary Jelks; many aunts, uncles and cousins and the many friends whose lives he has touched.
