

Charles E. Wessling, affectionately known as “Chuck,” passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025,in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Born on November 14, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a radarman on the USS Sellers. During his service, he completed a world cruise and visited the Mediterranean twice—experiences that sparked his lifelong passion for travel. After his military service, Chuck attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he met the love of his life, Terri Rivera. They were married in June 1977 and began building a beautiful life together.
Chuck had a 30-year career with UPS, working as an industrial engineer. His career took them across the country, and together, they made each new place feel like home.
After retiring and raising their children, Chuck and Terri embraced their love of travel, spending the next two decades exploring the world together. They visited every continent except Antarctica, making unforgettable memories along the way. More than anything, Chuck treasured time with his children and grandchildren, creating a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure.
Chuck was preceded in death by his siblings: Richard, Judith, Joyce, and James. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, a thoughtful uncle, and a kind, fun-loving friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Terri Wessling; daughter, Jennifer Tucker, her husband James, and their daughter; son, Jason Wessling, his wife Aubre, their daughter, and two sons. He also leaves behind his brother, Thomas, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members and many dear friends, who will forever hold his memory close.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on September 8 at 9:00 AM in Phoenix, Arizona.
