

Charles E. Williams Sr., resident of 10751 W. Rowel Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383, passed away on Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on Saturday, June 22, 1934, in Grenada, Mississippi, Charles Sr. was raised in a God-fearing home as the youngest of three children. His upbringing was marked by dedication to family, education, and faith, attending school during the week and church with his family every Sunday.
During his childhood, Charles Sr. spent Saturdays at the local golf course, working as a caddie to earn extra money. This experience sparked his lifelong passion for the game of golf. He attended Grenada High School and graduated with the class of 1952. After graduation, he continued caddying full time and practiced his golf skills in his free time.
In 1954, Charles Sr. enlisted in the Air Force, where he served honorably as a chef for four years before being honorably discharged in 1958. Following his military service, he worked as a butcher in a meat shop in Louisville, Kentucky. After the closure of the shop, Charles Sr. secured a position with the United States Post Office in Chicago, Illinois, where he was promoted to supervisor and dedicated over thirty years of service.
Golf remained Charles Sr.'s passion from an early age. He learned the intricacies of the sport by observing the players he caddied for and later competed in numerous tournaments with golf leagues from both private and public courses, earning several trophies and medals for his achievements.
Charles Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Williams and Mary Sallie, his sisters Rebecca and Geneva Williams, and his nephew Tommy. He is survived by his two sons, CharlesE. Williams Jr. and Antonio Williams, and his grandchildren, Chasity D. Williams, Pruit Williams, and Phoebe Williams.
Throughout his life and many experiences, Charles Sr. often shared the phrase, "After the darkest night, there is an even brighter day."
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Collins Villamor MD, to Nora Bonita and her family, as well as Fadi and his family, for welcoming Charles Sr. into their homes and for the care and compassion they showed during his final days.
