

Cleopatra June Outlaw went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband James Outlaw Jr., father W. B. “Bert” Westrope, mother Eva (Cousins) Westrope and brother William “Bill” Westrope. She is survived by her children Andrew Outlaw, Nathan (Sharon) Outlaw and Janita (Fred) Dahl, grandchildren Nicole Outlaw, Jessica Outlaw, Brittany Dahl, and Joshua Dahl, sister Betty (Tracy) Woosley, and brother Ed (Jane) Westrope. Cleo was born in Cloudy, Oklahoma on October 11, 1933 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her family in 1945. She first attended the Jesus Name Church in 1945 where she met and fell in love with the eventual Pastor, James Outlaw Jr. They were married in 1950 and spent the rest of their lives serving Jesus. Cleo loved to sing and was a member of the choral group “Sunshine Choral Aires” for many years. She also authored and produced a weekly bulletin for the church for over 40 years and ran a nursery school at the church. She was an Executive Secretary at Valley National Bank at age 16 and graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1950. Cleo was a devoted wife, caring mother and grandmother and kind friend that everyone could only hope to have. She was truly one of the most kind-hearted and gentle people who ever lived. Cleo had a sense of humor that never failed to bring a smile or laugh and she never met a soul whose life she didn’t touch in some way. She has been, and will continue to be, an inspiration to her family and she will be remembered in the hearts and memories of all of her loved ones. Viewing will be Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 5-8p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Service celebrating her life will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Pure Heart Christian Fellowship 14240 N. 43rd Ave. Glendale, AZ.
