

84, passed away June 12, 2014, in Goodyear, AZ. He was born September 3, 1929 in Saint Jo, TX, to Samuel and Alta Humphries Martin. At an early age his family moved to a farm near Crosbyton, TX, where he went to high school and worked the farm. At age 17 he joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Goodyear, AZ. It was here he met Susie Mulford, and they married in 1950.
After they were married Cleve was transferred to San Diego. After being discharged in 1952, he and Susie returned to Arizona settling in Phoenix. Cleve went to work for Reynolds Metals and stayed there for 31 years. Upon retirement he and Susie enjoyed traveling. Their favorite vacation spot was Pismo Beach, CA. In addition to traveling Cleve enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, bicycle riding, cooking and walking. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He enjoyed family gatherings and was always generous with his time and finances for friends and family throughout his life. He also loved his numerous dogs and enjoyed spending time with them. He knew Jesus Christ as his savior and enjoyed reading his Bible nightly and attending Thomas Road Baptist Church the last years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lane Martin and his wife Susie Martin. He is survived by his children Dan and Judy Martin, son-in-law Ed Gerdemann, sisters Sara West and Faye Talbut, special niece Sharon Gayle Martin, many other nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Zach and grand dog Hudson. His family would like him to be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved the Lord.
