

Cornelio Duron Chavez., “Marty”-“Cholla”, age 86, entered eternal rest on July 16, 2013 in Phoenix AZ. He was born March 3, 1927 in Phoenix Arizona to Cruz Chavez and Petra Gonzalez. He was happily married to Adelina Chavez, his wife of 64 years, Cornelio was a patriotic man who proudly served in the United States Navy back in the late 1940’s. He was an Honorable, respectable and good mannered man. Cornelio enjoyed working for Westinghouse where he was employed for 39 years as a transformer Winder. He enjoyed many activities such as photography, camping , he loved anything that had to do with hunting and fishing. He was a man of faith with great respect for his Catholic traditions. He was a man with strong family values always putting his family first.
Those left behind to mourn his passing are his loving wife Adelina; his daughter Diana Charles (Robert); Granddaughters Lydia Nicole Martin, Lyndsay Brooke Charles and two Great granddaughters Kamille and Emma; his brothers Frederico (Lico) Chavez and Frank Nunez (Joyce); sisters Vera Lovedo (John) Rita Urias (Leo) Patsy Leon ( Victor); and many nieces , nephews, many friends
Cornelio was preceded in death by his parents Cruz Chavez and Petra Gonzalez; brother John Chavez; Sisters Rose Ringer, Armida Medina and Consuelo Limon
Visitation will be on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 3140 N. 51st Ave Phoenix, AZ 85031 starting at 10:00am. The Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30am, with funeral liturgy being celebrated at 11:00am. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 10045 West Thomas Rd. Avondale, Arizona 85323
Serving as casket bearers will be Frank Jr. Nunez, Fred Chavez, Mike Chavez, Danny Limon, Ray Limon and Alfredo Moreno
