Dale Bruce Willett

Dale B. Willett, 87, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully Monday April 20, 2026, under the compassionate care of Hospice of the Valley Thunderbird, Glendale, Arizona. Dale was born October 4, 1938, in Alpha, Illinois, the son of Harold and Bessie (Chesley) Willett.

After Dale graduated high school, he joined the Navy to serve his country and continue his education. He married the love of his life, Joyce Nystrom on December 16, 1961 in Illinois. Dale worked for Montgomery Elevator in Moline, Illinois until the family moved to Arizona in 1984. Dale then worked for Makita Tools in Phoenix, Arizona until his retirement.

Dale was a man of few words, but his presence spoke volumes. Quietly stoic, yet endlessly kind, he had a gift for making everyone around him feel welcome and comfortable. He will be missed.

Dale is survived by his brother, Le Roy (Donna) Willett of Woodhull, Illinois, sister in law (Richard) Verna Willett, and two "kids" Cindy Becker of Phoenix, Arizona and Dan (Mary) Hoadley of Peoria, Arizona, and "grandkid" Ryan (Erica) Conlan of Temecula, California. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, 2 sons Joel and Gerald, parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to donor’s choice.
