Deborah grew up in Ohio and was proud to be an Air Force brat, carrying with her the resilience and adaptability that came with a military family upbringing.
When her father retired, the family relocated to Arizona in 1971, where Deborah would spend the rest of her life.
Along the way, Deborah was blessed with two sons, who were the center of her world. In 1983, she met the love of her life, Donald, and together they built a loving family. When the two were married in 1991 at South Mountain Park, her youngest son, Ronald, proudly gave her away, while her oldest son, though living in Texas at the time, was close in spirit and love.
Deborah built a long and meaningful career as the Cafeteria Manager with the Roosevelt School District, where she served faithfully for 28 years. Her leadership, kindness, and dedication left a lasting mark on colleagues, staff, and the many students she supported over the years.
More than anything, Deborah was a devoted mother. She was always present for her boys throughout their school years—attending their games, cheering at their sporting events, and showing up for every milestone. She was a loving but firm presence in their lives—strict enough to keep them in line, yet always fair and steady in her guidance. Her sons often said she was stern, but they knew it came from deep love and care.
Deborah leaves behind the love of her life, Donald; her sons, David Green and his wife Dawn, and Ronald Patterson, daughter Julie Fager and step-son James; her grandchildren, Patricia, Brittany, Christopher, Molly, Rayne, and Mikey; her great grandchildren Ava- Grace, Jazmyn, Theresa and Marybella; and her beloved best friend, whom they fondly call Aunt Linda.
Deborah is greeted in heaven by her parents, Matthew Freeman and Phyllis Penrose; her siblings, Bill, Julie, and Christina; and her son Michael. She will be remembered for all of her favorite things and, most importantly, her unwavering love for her family.
