Dolores Lee Zaferatos

Dolores Lee Zaferatos, Age 91, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born on January 29, 1933, to the late Benny and Lena Nero in Cleveland, OH. On October 6, 1951, she married Pete Zaferatos at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Cleveland, OH.

Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a deep love for music and art, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Known for her compassion, selflessness, and unwavering willingness to help others, Dolores was truly an angel on earth.

She is survived by her two children, Denise (Gary) Cooper and Peter (Margie) Zaferatos; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete Zaferatos, who passed away on October 19, 2018, and her brother, Bernie Nero.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. Burial services will follow at 12:30 p.m.at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Road Phoenix, AZ 85024.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dolores's honor may be made to the Cleveland City Mission or the Phoenix Rescue Mission.
