Don Frazier O'Connor

Don was born in La Mesa, Texas to Lavoice and Winnie O'Connor. He was the second youngest of four brothers and one sister. He was the first child to be born in a hospital. While born in Texas, he was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Don met his beloved wife Billie, in high school and they married in 1960. They were happily married for 63 years. In 1961, they welcomed their first daughter Donna and their second daughter Cathy followed in 1962. In 1964, Don was hired by the Phoenix Fire Department and retired in 1984 as a Captain. Don and Billie moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1984 where he joined the Bullhead City Fire Department. He retired from the Bullhead City Fire Department in 1992 as a Battalion Chief. Once he officially retired, Don and Billie enjoyed traveling the world together. Don loved the ocean, hiking, being active, reading good books, and most of all his family and friends. Don was a member of multiple organizations during his life, including the Elks and Rotary clubs.

Don is survived by his beloved wife Billie, daughters Donna Rosser (Chris) and Cathy Ridgeway (Travis). Grandchildren, April Rosser, Jessica Tary (Jonathan), Amanda Raprager (Derrick), Trevor Ridgeway, and Timothy Ridgeway. Great-Grandchildren, Arya, Elijah, and Brooklyn. As well as many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by both his parents and siblings.

Don will be remembered for his kind spirit and generosity. He loved making people laugh and smile with his jokes and wit. His family was always number one to him and he always said he had to "take care of his girls."

Don's memorial and burial will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary (719 North 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85009) on November 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM (viewing), 11:00 AM (chapel service) with gravesite service to follow. His Celebration of Life will be on December 2, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Miracle Mile Event Center (2580 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, AZ 86442). Hawaiian dress is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, Donations are being taken in Don O'Connor's honor for the Bullhead City Firefighters Holiday Toy Drive at www.firefightersholidaytoydrive.org
