Donald “Don” Herbert Roeder was born in Cleveland, OH on August 21,1933 and passed away in Phoenix, AZ on July 7, 2021. Don was a dedicated and hard-working Union Painter and Wallpaper Hanger for 55 years, a member of and usher at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, and a supportive, caring friend and neighbor to many. He enjoyed watching sports, using his MacGyver skills for never-ending projects, and relaxing in his swimming pool with a cold Stella while listening to Waylon and Willie on his Echo Dot. He had mad whistling skills that were contagious, and was a fun and witty man. Don’s pride and joy was his family. Don was married to Dorothy in 1963, began his family in 1966, and moved them from Cleveland, OH to Phoenix, AZ in 1976. Don and Dorothy were married for 52 years at the time of her passing, and he missed her every day after she left this earth, taking flowers to her grave every Sunday until he joined her in Heaven. He was an incredible patriarch who his 3 daughters were proud to call Dad. The very best Papa they could ask for to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a wonderful father-in-law. The world has lost a great man and a loving soul. May he rest in Paradise.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Cook) and William Roeder, his wife, Dorothy K. (Galinac) Roeder, as well as his brother, James Roeder and his wife Patsy (Burns). He is survived by daughters Doreen Rioux-Hess (husband Michael), Deborah Faust (husband Paul), and Deanna Koch; grandchildren, Danielle Weisman, Halley McCarthy (husband Brodie), and Cade Faust; great-grandchildren Oliver Beckham Weisman and several nieces and nephews.
