

Dora’s early life was spent in WI, MN and AZ. She often spoke of travelling with her parents and visiting her Simonson cousins. She graduated from high school in Staples, MN, and attended secretarial college in Minneapolis, MN. After successfully completing her studies, Dora relocated to Phoenix, where she began her professional career. Dora met and married Frederick Dickhaut in 1969 while working in Phoenix. She was married to Fred until his passing in 1991. Dora was a generous person. She supported numerous charities, many of which involved cats and children. In her later years she cared for her sister Mary June. Dora had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She loved to tease and was quick to smile. She collected friends and cat themed art and collectables. Dora enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her large group of friends. Some of her favorite activities included annual birthday parties at Cristo’s and planning and attending the Old Timers Picnic with her work family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, and beloved sister Mary.
A celebration of life will be held at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw on Tuesday April 7 th , 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial services at Greenwood Memory Lawn.
