Duane Royce Halvorson

Duane was born on February 4, 1939, in Camas, Washington, to Harold and Gladys Halvorson. He had made his home in the Valley of the Sun for the last 80 years. He was an Eagle Scout, a U.S. Army Veteran, and an enthusiastic outdoorsman. He worked in the Physical Facilities department at Arizona State University and retired in 1994. Duane was a devoted and loving husband, father, Grandpa, and Great Grandfather (Mr. GiGi).

In addition to his parents, Harold and Gladys, Duane was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald (Frances) and Larry Halvorson, his daughter, Candance Halvorson, and son-in-law, Gregory Scott.

Duane is survived by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Elaine; children, Tina Scott, Jeff Halvorson, and Darren Halvorson (Heather), eight wonderful grandchildren, Mindy (Chris), Megan (Jeffrey), Dale (Brooke), Tyler, Chase (Sarah), Dawson (Leah), Victoria, and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Annalyn, and Tommy. Sister-in-law Diane Halvorson, and nephews, Eric and Mike.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 am at Mountain Park Church, 16461 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85048.
