Eileen Marie Connelly, age 69, of Phoenix, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1948 to the late Philip T. and Julia B. (Kelly) Lyons in Bethlehem, PA. Eileen attended Bishop Knoll Institute graduating class of 1970; then furthered her education at St. Francis University in Joliet, Il obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Education. Eileen was a high school math teacher at Horizon High School until her retirement in 1997. On November 23, 1970 she married Bill Connelly in Lansing, IL. Eileen was a member of Alpha Mu Omega Sorority. She enjoyed tutoring math students, watching her children's sports events and recitals, and spending time with her family. Eileen is survived by her loving spouse of 47 years, Bill; two children, Bridget (Tyler) Johnson and Sean (Kiersten) Connelly; her sister, Mary (Ken) Polnow; five grandchildren, Faith and Amanda Johnson, and Teagan, Madeilain, and Quinnlan Connelly; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Strohmeyer. Memorial Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with the Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eileen’s honor may be made the American Diabetes Association.
