Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Knoche Crowley Soots

Betty, 90, passed away on December 29, 2010. Betty was born on May 19, 1920, to George and Nancy Knoche in Madison, WI. She married John Crowley in 1939. Betty and John moved to Arizona in 1941 where they raised five children; Jack, deceased, (Diana); Nancy (Irvin) Barber; Chris; Dennis; and Patrick (Kathleen). Betty was an active parishioner at St. Gregory’s Church and a part of the Brophy/Xavier community for 20 years. After John’s death in 1971, Betty married Garvin Soots. Together they spent many years with friends, golfing and playing bridge until Garvin’s death in 1997. Besides her four children, Betty is survived by her sister, Dorothy Kobb of Madison, WI, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 4th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 3550 E. Knox, Rd. Phoenix, AZ. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery 10045 W.
