Zavitz, Elizabeth Ruth "Nana", went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2011. Bette was born January 20,1923 to Edward and Marie Scheifla in Lancaster, NY. While working at Curtis Wright Aircraft, she met the "love of her life" and husband of nearly 55 years, Robert. She and Bob were married in Framingham, MA, May 17, 1946. During their life they lived in Albuquerque, NM, Inglewood, CA, and Buffalo, NY before settling in Phoenix for 47 years. Everyone who met Bette came to know her as Nana. She loved to cook, family traditions, and always had an extra plate for an unexpected guest. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Edward and Marie Scheifla; siblings, Art, Kenny, Viola and Doris. Survived by her daughter, Linda Hinson; granddaughter, Amy Severs (David) and her "pride and joy" great-granddaughters, Madelynne and Claire. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22nd at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Unity of Phoenix, 1500 E. Greenway Parkway, Phoenix, AZ. A private interment for family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Disabled American Veterans.
