Essie Mae Spencer

Essie M. "GG" Spencer was born in Bloomington, Illinois on May 15, 1926. Essie had a long career in Real Estate. She become one of the first woman brokers in the state of Illinois and started her own Real Estate company there. She was a broker and practiced real estate actively for over 50 years. Essie left us to be with the Lord on Sunday April 22, 2012.

Essie is survived by her sister, Evelyn Newell of Springfield, Illinois and her brother James Davis of Kankakee, Illinois. 3 children, Gina Zook, Debbie (Dan) Valentine both from Phoenix, AZ, and Jack (Cheryl) Martin from Garland Texas. Essie is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, Kathy Gondolla, Steve (Wende) Valentine, Robert Valentine all of Phoenix, AZ as well as Dan (Megan) Valentine of Rockford, Illinois. Essie was preceded in death by two grandchildren Laura Valentine German and Jackie Martin III. Essie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many close friends.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 27, 2012, 5:00-8:00 P.M., at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, 10:00 A.M., at Phoenix First Assembly Prayer Chapel, 13613 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022.
