

Florence Johnson, also known as Flossie to friends and family, passed away on 7/8/16 due to a pulmonary infection. She was born on June 4, 1929 and grew up in Miami, AZ until she moved to Phoenix in 1950 to work for State Compensation Fund where she remained until she retired. She married John Johnson in 1952 after knowing him for only two months. He was the love of her life for 57 years until his passing in 2009. Her son James “Bryan” preceded her in death in 2015. Flo is survived by her daughter, Connie Cole; 3 granddaughters, Christy Johnson, Brandi Johnson and Risa Cole; 4 great grandchildren, Brittin, Brodie, Jade and Cash. She was creative, artistic, witty, smart, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her job, sewing, spending time at her cabin in Strawberry and her family. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Magda’s Family Home Care for their exceptional professional and compassionate care of our dear loved one. A celebration of Florence’s life will be held at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix AZ 85013 on July 17, 2016 at 3:00pm with services following at 4:00pm.
