Frank Charles Farrell was born April 27,1947 in Lansing Michigan. His family relocated to Hammond Indiana where he attended school until graduation. After high school, Frank was trained as a dental lab technician but decided to enlist in the Air Force in 1967. In 1969, while stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome New York, he met his future wife Peggy who was the only civilian studying to become a dental assistant on base. Frank was honorably discharged from service in 1971. Later that year, inspired by the Cisco Kid, the lure of the Wild West brought Frank and Peggy to Arizona. They were married on the courthouse steps that June. The couple became business owners when they purchased their own dental lab in 1974, a business that continues to thrive to this day. The Farrells decided not to have children of their own but loved to spoil their nieces Heather and Meghan who lived close by. Frank was a larger than life character whose loves included politics and loud music. He was a regular fixture on some Phoenix AM radio shows where he loved to banter with the hosts and other guests. Frank could often be found in his man cave playing one of his many guitars surrounded by posters of rock n roll concerts he had attended throughout the years (including Woodstock). Behind the intimidating handlebar moustache, Frank was an extremely kind man with a generous and warm heart who touched many lives.
On October 01, 2013 Frank passed away at home after a long battle with Cancer. His wife Peggy was at his side. Frank leaves behind Peggy, his wife of 42 years and numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, October 12, 11:00am at the Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. (602) 530-6900.
