Freddie Lee Dixon was born on September 2, 1939 in Paris, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Ruth) Dixon. He was the youngest of four children born to this union. Along with his parents, Freddie’s two sisters Helen Ruth and Mamie Jean preceded him in death. God lifted his soul from his earthly body to be with Him in Heaven on April 10, 2014. He attended Dunjee High School in Choctaw, Oklahoma and entered work in the construction field. Freddie moved to California and accepted a maintenance position with the City of San Diego California Police Department and retired after 18 years as a Maintenance Supervisor. With that early retirement, Freddie along with brother, James, moved to Phoenix, Arizona. While in Phoenix, he accepted faith in God and was passionate in his daily reading of the Bible. Most of all, Freddie never had negative things to say about anyone (stranger or friend), he was a people person who always had a smile and a friendly hello to all. He really loved his family, car, neighbors and the employees at the local WAL-MART store.
Freddie is survived by his brother James who recently moved back to San Diego, California; a son Bert of Colorado; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives in Oklahoma and Texas. A Visistation will be held 4:00pm, Friday, April 18, 2014 at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85282.
