

The son of Curtis and Katie Taylor was born and raised in Houston, Texas. George believed in serving his community. In his youth, George was a member of the Explorer Scouts of Clinton
Park Post 401 where he (and best friend, Gilbert) once saved a man’s life when they rescued a neighbor from a burning home, proving at an early age to be a leader and now, a celebrated
local hero.
After attending both Wheatley High School and Prairie View A&M University, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly and honorably served his country for 21 years in distinguished units such as the USAF Strategic Air Command where he maintained the power systems for this country’s Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile defenses.
In retirement, George enjoyed spending time with friends and family, muscle cars, giving living history speeches about the Black Seminole Negro Indians, participating in outdoor sports such
as hiking, hunting, fishing and raising horses.
George is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters (Vera and Lois), and his loving wife of 61 years, Prudencia.
George is survived by his son Gregory (Leah), 3 grandchildren, Greyson, Savannah and Lonnie, and 1 great-grandchild, Kardinal. George also leaves behind a host of friends and extended
family who will miss him dearly.
Services will be held graveside at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona (2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024) on Friday, August 01, 2025 at 10:30am.
