When I think of Jerry, I think of honesty, loyalty, and determination. I've known him for over 60 years, as a brother and a friend.  Whenever anyone asked him a question he or she could expect the truth as he saw it.  No glossing over, no excuses.  If I came to him with a situation, the questions he asked were uncanny as though he already knew the whole problem. Direct and straightforward was he. Once he determined you were “okay” by him, he was loyal. No question about it, he was willing to help. And he did so many times. I cannot thank him enough for that. I watched Jerry and Margot as they became more and more confident and successful, and I knew that it was determination that carried them through all the early years, rougher times. Jerry was street smart and innately smart. What he didn't know, he learned, and listened to those in his field who knew. Although he was no college graduate, he made it in this world, provided for his family, and could look back at many achievements. Surely he was given the talents and used them well.
I have always referred to Jerry as my brother although “in-law” is the formal title. I am lucky to have known him and to have reaped the benefits of his generosity. Thanks, brother Jerry, for all you have been.

Grandpa Walters was a witty and fun-spirited man who took every chance he could to put a smile on his loved one's faces. I am and will always be proud and grateful to have him as my Grandfather and I can truly say I owe my sense of humor to that man. I wish I could have been with Grandma and the rest of the Walters family during this tough time but I know we will all be together soon with Grandpa looking down us with a smile. Rest in peace, Grandpa.

Grandpa will forever be in my heart. I strive to have his sense of class, wit, and determination. He was a man to be admired. A formidable soul.  He is and forever will be in my fondest family memories...He made  my sister and I feel so loved and we will never forget those early years on the lake and with Barney. He is to be honored for his service in the Korean War, incredible work ethic, and love for his family. My deepest sympathies to my Grandma, who is most certainly his soul mate. To the family of Gerry Walters,  While guilty of not seeing Gerry for the past 38 years I want to express Fran and my heartfelt condolences  to his family especially to Margo. Early on in my engineering career Gerry always steered me in the practical direction on problem solving as opposed to "the way the books steer you" . Gerry will be missed   Fran and Wally Kniaz
