

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 9, 1930, to Elmer and Frieda Yeary. He attended Euclid Central High School and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Athletic Scholar Society. As a youngster he was a Boy Scout and later a Scout Leader.
After high school, Gerry was a Draftsman for the Addressograph Multigraph Co. and worked on the design of Credit Card Imprinters first used in gas stations and department stores. He then spent three years in the U.S. Army, two years in Korea, in the 27th Infantry Bn., 25th Div. and obtained the rank of Sargent First Class. Upon returning home he worked for Uarco Inc. in the bindery making all kinds of business forms.
He moved to Arizona in 1961 and was employed as a Senior Draftsman by Sperry Flight Systems, later purchased by Honeywell. There, he was a Draftsman, and later Production Engineering Supervisor, working on air data computers, gyroscopes, and other satellite equipment.
Gerry and his wife Ruth participated in many church activities and volunteered in varied ways over the years. They enjoyed the outdoors, boating and fishing on Arizona lakes and camping in the Arizona mountains where they were hosts at a campground near Greer Az for two seasons. They also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and Gerry liked to put together car and boat models.
Gerry is survived by his children Brandy Shinault and Douglas Yeary, stepchildren Steven Larson and Kathleen Morley, and brothers Dr Leroy Yeary and Glenn Yeary, and four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth, his daughter Susan, and his brother Roger and sister Nancy.
The family will be holding a private memorial service.
