

Glenn was born to Dewey Samuel Petterson and Elsie Hall on March 11, 1934, in Amsterdam, NY. Glenn graduated from Fort Plain Central School in 1952 and joined the United States Air Force after high school.
While stationed at Luke AFB, AZ, he met and married Nancy Jo Cooke. They and their five children resided in Arizona, Texas, Japan, Kansas, and Duluth, MN until Glenn’s retirement from the Air Force in 1973. After retirement, Glenn and Nancy moved to Phoenix. They were married for 43 years until her passing in 2000.
Glenn re-married in 2003 to Bertha Mae Allen and the two resided in Sun City West, AZ. They enjoyed connecting with friends and family, their date-nights at the Arizona Broadway Theatre, and taking care of their fur-babies, Gidget, and Abbey.
Glenn is survived by his wife Bertha, his children Valarie (Jim) Callaway, Vickie Buback, Venita (Jeff) Spacht, Vivian (William) Joseph, Henry (Marsha) Petterson, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
What a fruitful life Glenn lived! Aside from his deep love for his family, Glenn was passionate about his savior, Jesus Christ. After retirement, Glenn continued support of his country, advocating patriotism across the U.S. through his work with the American Legion in Duluth and Sun City West.
Glenn’s family will host a celebration of life in his honor on January 10th, 2023 at 10am with graveside military honors at 11am. The service will be at the Serenity Chapel of Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix, Arizona located at 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ.
