Harry was born December 5th, 1943 to Joe and Clara Thiel in Greeley, Nebraska. He was raised in Mapleton, Iowa alongside his 13 brothers and sisters. In 1963 he married Marjorie Koeppen, the love of his life. In the years to come they welcomed children, Joe and Anne.
Harry worked as a member of Glaziers Local 573 in Omaha for most of his young adult years, serving as the president of the Local from 1980-1988. In 1988 Harry and Marge relocated to Glendale, Arizona for Marge’s career with “Ma Bell.” He continued glazing in Arizona until his retirement in 2005.
Harry loved horse racing. He owned, wagered and followed the horses all his life. He was a lifelong Cardinals Season ticket holder - beloved family members Scott, Darla, Sarah and Jessie, and grandson Louie carry on his legacy at State Farm Stadium on Sundays.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife Marge, father Joe, mother Clara, brothers Bob, Smiley, Jerry, Larry, and sisters Joan, Marcy. He is survived in death by son Joe (Monica), daughter Anne (Andre), Grandchildren Theresa (Tyler), Gus (Laura), Abbey (Mauricio), Louie (Mattie), Alex, Great-Grandson Kane, brothers Tom, Fritz, Butch, and sisters Arlene, Kathy, Ina and Jean.
