Hermenia O. Martinez

Hermenia "Gil" Martinez peacefully passed on November 30th, 2024 at the age of 94 years old. Born on January 11, 1930 in Superior, AZ. Hermenia was gentle, compassionate, always had a warm smile and a listening ear. She devoted her life to providing love and support and she will be remembered for her generosity. Her legacy is love and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Hermenia was a dedicated wife to Pablo Martinez and in 2000 they celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary with a beautiful celebration with all their loved ones. Pablo passed in 2009. Together they brought 8 son's into the world.

She is survived by her son's Paul Jr., Rudy, Larry Martinez and her brother Tommy S. Ocano, many nieces and nephews. She has approximately 45 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her son's David, Richard, Robert, Ernesto and Edward Martinez. Her parents Modesto Apodaca Ocano and Leandra Santos. Her siblings Arthur Ocano, Esther O. Castro, Lorene V. Torrez and Phyllis V. Flores.

A visitation & rosary service for Hermenia will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013. A funeral mass will occur Monday, December 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Gregory Catholic Parish, 3424 N 18th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85015, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Memorial Gardens, 4310 E Southern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85042. A reception will directly follow at St Gregory Catholic Parish.
