

Ida was born April 8, 1921 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to Francis Clark and Katherine Breckenridge. Ida grew up in Brownsville and Wilson, Pennsylvania and worked in the family restaurant where she met her husband Howard Pittard (now deceased). Ida and Howard Pittard spent many years in the Pittsburgh, PA area where they raised their children. Howard worked for US Steel and Ida was a hairdresser and worked in their church. Following Howard’s retirement from US Steel, they moved to Phoenix in 1976. Ida later met and married Charles Schenck, Jr, (now deceased).
Ida was a long-time member of North Phoenix Baptist Church. She was a faithful member, an active participant in bible study and was a staff member in the church office for many years.
Ida was blessed with a caring family and many friends. She is survived by her daughter Patricia J. Ermold (Leonard) of Fernandina Beach, FL and son S. Howard Pittard (Virginia) of Mooresville, NC. She was predeceased by son Thomas J. Pittard. She is survived by seven grandchildren: David Morrison, Richard Morrison, Linda Toepel, Susan Morrison, Matthew Morrison, Raymond Pittard, and Robb Pittard. Grandson Jeffrey Pittard is now deceased. Ida is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Later in life Ida joined the Schenck family and is survived by Tripp Schenck, Judy Fox, Debby Pew, Bradley Schenck, Shawna Melton, and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ida’s family is very grateful for the loving care given to her by her beloved caregiver, LeAnne Olivarez, and long-time friend Kathryn McCormack, as well as Hospice of the Valley.
Ida will be remembered as a true Christian woman who lived a faithful life of service and Christian fellowship. She also will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
