Iona Mathieson, 92, passed on to her reward on January 24, 2011. A beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, whose wisdom was a source of strength to her entire family. Iona was 5 years old when her family moved to Phoenix in 1923 from Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, and her son Gary Bowen. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Willingham and Andrea Graca. She was very proud of her 3 grandchildren, Kari Zilkenat, Russ Bowen, and Cindy Bowen-Tejeda. Services will be held Saturday, January 29 at noon, Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 719 N. 27th Avenue. Visitation is one hour prior. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or The Alzheimer’s Foundation. Goodbye to a brave and strong lady.
