Irene Otillia Lapp passed away peacefully on June 10, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ. Irene was born on May 3, 1928 in Artas, SD to Kathrina and Henry Knoepfle. She had lived in the Valley of Sun for the last 37 years. Irene was very active in women’s ministry at Prince of Peace Lutheran church. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and supporting the needy. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert Lapp; daughters Cindy Lee Jacobs and Nancy Marie Mikel; sister Lena Schweigerdt; grandchildren Seth Jacobs, Jenna Crawford, Kari, Lauren and Miah Mikel. Irene was predeceased by her parents and brothers Johnny and Pete Knoepfle. Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 beginning at 9:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 3641 North 56th Street Phoenix, AZ.
