Born on Nov. 27th 1955, Irma focused her career on working hard, and doing what was necessary to ensure everyone she served was given the top in quality. She gained her work ethic working for American Mailing and Bindery, and enveloping her co-workers with her spirit and energy to be happy. She eventually left that field to pursue a career as an Eligibility Interviewer for the Dept. of Economic Security, where she built many more lifelong friendships, and worked tirelessly to ensure all of her Clients felt respected and cared for, and also sharing her spirit with her co-workers, many of which remain friends to this day. She retired from the State of Arizona in 2015.
Irma is survived by her son Gabriel, her daughter, Elena, her Son-in-Law Ricardo, and her grandson, Damian. She is also survived by her brothers, Fermin, James, David, and her sisters, Joann, Norma, Emily, Evelyn, of which she shared countless memories, stories and mainly laughs. She also shared many more laughs and memories with her significant other Ramon. Her energy, her laugh and her smile was infectious, always one to try to make things better, even in the grimest of situations. She was one to never turn down a trip to the casino, where she would have to play her “Buffalo’s”, she loved her $2 Crosswords, and was an avid player of the Powerball and Mega Millions, in the hopes of one day hitting the jackpot. She loved to play card games, like 31 or Left Right Center, and Bingo, whether in a Hall, Casino or in the Backyard. She would always welcome the opportunity to master her BBQ techniques, all while being a listening ear to open up to at anytime. Her mst recent love was her trips to pick up and drop off her grandson, Damian, of which they shared many hilarious conversations. She was beloved and will be miss by all that she touched.
Irma’s services will be held at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, located on 710 W Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85013, at 12pm on Saturday October 20th, followed by a gathering at her brother James’ house, details of which can be provided.
