Jack was known for his sense of humor, and anyone that knew him had heard a ‘Jack-joke’ or two. In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He was also an avid lover of classic cars, especially his 1964 Pontiac GTO, who he jokingly referred to as ‘the other woman’. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jack served in the US Navy for 4 years and worked for Superlite Block for 33 years, until retirement. In his time at Superlite, he had only ever called in sick once, which was indicative of his strong work ethic and dedication. He worked as a mold mechanic at Superlite and was awarded 2 US Patents for mold designs that created distinctive wave or diamond shape patterns in the face of concrete building blocks.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Elsie, brothers Duane, Fred, Dean, and Paul, and sisters Connie, Pat, and Liz. He is survived by the love of his life, Ellie, to whom he was married for 52 years, his two sons and their families, Frank (Tiffany) and Nick (Gina), and his daughter and her family Amy (Jeff), 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother, Bill of Dover Ohio, and many friends and extended family members.
A visitation for Jack will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, followed by a Graveside Service with Military Honors at 12:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85025
