Jaime was born and raised in Ecuador, later emigrating to New York to work at various
production companies while also becoming a naturalized citizen of the country he
loved. He and his wife, Teresa, moved to New Jersey where they began their family. Five
children later, Jaime moved the family to Arizona for his wife's health, where their last
two children were born and where he remained until his passing, leaving his loved ones
with a lifetime of good deeds and magnificent memories.
Anyone who knew him knew he was more than a job or a degree. He was curious and
inventive - a man of action. He loved to read, watch, and tell a good story – real or
imagined. He felt at home in nature and anywhere his family was with him. He thought
laughter was best when shared – and it often was. Music was an emotion to him, an
experience. Every request for help was always answered. He spoke only the truth. He
gained wisdom and intelligence from experience and study. He learned patience from
struggle, gratitude from sacrifice. He grew faith in God from devoted service. He loved
deeply and was loved deeply in return. His wife knows no better husband. His children
know no better father. He lived happily no matter the circumstances.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, their six children (and their spouses), Jaime, Jr.
(Darlene), Alexandra (Philip), Silvia, Ruth, Patricia, Michael (Megan), and his twelve
grandchildren. Their youngest daughter, Esther, is deceased.
Jaime was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Services will be
held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the chapel located at 3102 North 18th Avenue in
Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation with the family begins at 8:30 am. The service begins at
9:30 am. Flowers can be sent to Greenwood Memory Lawn.
