Jim was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1948. He married Winnie Franklin (also CSHS class of 1948) in 1952. They moved to Phoenix with their children in 1964. He was employed by Edson Electric Supply Company in Phoenix until his retirement in 1992. After retirement, he and Winnie enjoyed golf and traveling together. In later years, after Winnie passed, he'd often jump in the car on the spur of the moment to attend a golf tournament or to drive to his hometown in Colorado to visit old friends. Affectionately known as "JimDad" to many people, he had a razor sharp wit, was a snappy dresser, (just like Winnie), an avid golfer, and was always ready with a joke! To those who knew him, it is quite fitting that he passed on April Fools Day.
He was predeceased by Winnie, his wife of 54 years. He is survived by his 3 children, Ray (Sacramento, CA), Ed (Phoenix, AZ) and Linda K. (Phoenix, AZ); his grandson Max (Sacramento, CA); and his brother Charles "Bill" Pond and wife Georgia (Big Bear, CA). He loved his many dogs through the years and will be missed by his current best dog friend, Lycan.
