

Jay was born as a twin in Wakarusa, Indiana on August 17, 1931.
He worked as a Self Employed Insurance Agent, a Sales Manager for Manufactured Homes & Custom Vans. He also worked as an extra in many TV movies. In his later years, he loved working for Casino World, dealing Black Jack for private parties. He also was a private pilot. He served in the Navy and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan; he loved the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns. He even played softball at the age of 78.
Jay is preceded in death by his father Levon (1932), his mother Minnie (1996), his twin sister Ellen (2012) & his granddaughter Andrea (1989).
Jay is survived by his Wife, Linda – Phoenix, AZ; Daughter, Karen (Vic) Ortiz – Elkhart, IN; Daughter, Debbie (Jim) Reed - Elkhart, IN; Son, Bill (Marsha) Holdeman – Little Rock, AR; Daughter, Sindi Sanzica – Naples, FL; Daughter, Sandee (Randy) Barden – Bristol, IN; Daughter, Sheila (JD) Kimbrell – Phoenix, AZ; and Daughter, Shelly (Tyke) Pagel - Oregon City, OR; 2 Nephews & a Niece, 19 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren & 2 Great Great Grandchildren,
Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug 2, 2016 5pm – 8pm. at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3rd, at 10:30 am – 12:00 pm - Black Mountain Baptist Church, 33955 N. Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331, with Pastor Rich Rayls, of Calvary Chapel Desert Hills, officiating. Military Honors will follow at 1:00 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024. A lunch reception to follow back at Black Mountain Baptist Church, 33955 N. Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. Pallbearers will be: Bill Holdeman, JD Kimbrell, Tyke Pagel, James Kimbrell, Jeremy Kimbrell, Tyler Modisett, Jay Gasmire & David Gasmire.
Memorials may be given to their home church, Calvary Chapel Desert Hills.
