

Capko, Jerome M. "Jerry", 70, Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 15, 2013. He was born in Streator, IL on June 15, 1943. He served as a police officer in Illinois before moving to Arizona in 1980. He worked at APS for many years and remained in close contact with his many friends from his time there. Those friends, along with countless others have been of enormous comfort and support to him and his family during his illness. Strangers were never strangers for very long with Jerry-he made friends everywhere he went. He touched the lives and hearts of everyone who knew him. He loved nothing in life more than his sons David and Scott, daughters in law Kristen and Kellie, his granchildren Jacob, Karlee, Gracie and Alyssa as well as his father Robert Smelcer, sisters Pat Ellis and Shirley Vaughan and brother Edward "Bud" Capko. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Ruth "Trinkie" Smelcer and brother "Dick" Capko. His nieces and nephews also held a very special place in his heart and he truly enjoyed every moment with them.
Dad-We love you and miss you more than words can ever say. You will be forever missed by us and all of your family and friends. Services will be held December 21, 2013 with visitation one hour prior at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
