

Jerry Q. Home of Tempe passed away peacefully Saturday, March 21, 2026. He was born to Ong Sui Fong and Quen Hom on September 16, 1931, in Canton, China, and came to the United States in 1938 with his mother and sister, Yoke Sue, to join members of the Hom Family
He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1951 and later entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War era. Following his discharge, he attended Arizona State University.
While in grade school, he also attended evening Chinese school and there he met his future wife, Sue. They married in June of 1960.
Jerry was employed by First National Bank of Arizona for 35 years, holding various positions including Deputy Comptroller and Bank Property Management. He directed the name change to First Interstate Bank. In 1992, he retired as Vice President and manager of the bank Distribution Center..
Jerry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time around the campfire with fellow anglers. He was an avid fan of all Arizona sports. Another favorite pastime of his was to visit the local casinos.
He also was a charter member of the Yee Fung Toy Family Association of Phoenix and served as president shortly after the new building was inaugurated.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Sue, his parents, his brothers Gary and Jack Hom, sister Yoke Sue Quon, nephews Richard Hom, Perry Quon, and nieces Sandra Quon and Linda Gee.
He is survived by his sister Shirley (Roland) Tang, nieces Dinah (Ron) Yee, Rosie (Perry) Don, Carolyn (Glenn) Gong, Oleta (Marvin) Wong, Tamara (Kyle) Eng, and by nephews David (Linda) Hom, Victor (Jennie) Quon, Ken (Cindy) Quon, Tim (Patty) Quon, and Todd (Heather) Tang, 19 grand nieces/nephews, and 14 great grand nieces/nephews.
Services are scheduled for Friday, April 3, at Greenwood Memory Lawn, Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by celebration of life at 10:00. Gravesite services will immediately follow.
