Joan Jackson Jennings peacefully passed away with her family at her home on November 30, 2016. Joan was born January 10, 1927 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was the only child of Rollo Baugh Jackson and Mary Shelley Jackson.
She lived on a farm in Reasnor, Iowa until age eight when she moved with her family to Phoenix. She attended Emerson Elementary School and North Phoenix High.
In addition to being a telephone operator, flower store owner, fashion model, book keeper and office manager, Joan and husband John raised three children Jan, John and Jay,
They built a home next to North High in 1951 and she lived there until the day she died. Joan was a kind and giving woman that loved travel, a great conversation and Tom Brady. Her many accomplishments were never published nor well known other than by her friends and family and that's the way she liked it.
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be private per her wishes.
Special thanks goes to all the kind people at Caring Seniors Services and Hospice Of The Valley for their help and support. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a granddaughter's cause, dirtcoffee.org, helping young adults on the spectrum learn life long job skills in the workplace.
Arrangements under the direction of Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
