John Cecil Badley

John Cecil Badley, of Litchfield Park, Arizona, died at the age of 75 at his home in Prescott on December 18, 2010. He was born February 28, 1935 at the old St. Joseph’s hospital in downtown Phoenix to Russell and Celeste Badley. John was raised at 91st Avenue and Camelback Road where he attended Pendergast Elementary School and Tolleson High School. He married his wife of 54 years, Suzanne Fulton Badley while still in college. He graduated from ASU in 1957 with a degree in Agriculture. He was an active member of the ATO fraternity and honored those friendships all his life. John was a lifelong farmer and moved his family to Buckeye in 1962. He farmed there until 1970 when they moved to Blythe, CA. He raised produce, hay, cotton and small grains. He also was a cattleman who raised cattle from Oregon to Florida on ranches and in feedlots. In 1985 he returned to Arizona and farmed in the west valley until he retired. Later he went on to purchase, develop and manage various parcels of real estate in Arizona. His favorite hobby was flying and over the years he owned and flew many different single and twin engine airplanes. He was active in the Elks Lodge and served on the Board of the Palo Verde Hospital, both in Blythe, CA. In the West Valley he participated in the American Legion and served on the board of Electrical District 8. John was a very special person who went out of his way to help others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will not only be deeply missed by his family but by many others throughout Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, two sons, John Fulton and Robert Russell Badley, one daughter, Rebecca Badley Coman and six grandchildren, Erin and Dayson Badley, Brook, Alicia and Amber Badley and James Coman. A Memorial service will be held on December 28, 2010 at 3:00 P.M at The Church at Litchfield Park, 300 North Old Litchfield Rd., Litchfield Park, AZ 85340, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Wigwam Resort, 300 East Wigwam Blvd. in Litchfield Park.
