John was born on April 29th, 1955 in Carroll, Iowa to Duane Alvin Collis and Betty Lou Collis.
John worked as a pressman for the Arizona Republic for over 20 years until retiring due to health issues. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his free time riding motorcycles, four-wheeling and boating.
John was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Dean Collis. He is survived by his children Jamie John Collis and Jennifer Lynn Unruh (Daniel) and five grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00am ,Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd, Peoria, Arizona.
