John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on a spring day of May 25, 1938 to John and Edna Wargo as his parents’ first child.
As a child, John showed early signs of his love for the outdoors. Every summer he would visit his uncles at the farm, and enjoyed just being surrounded by the animals, the woods and the wilderness.
John joined the United States Army in 1958 where he served in Germany and was eventually discharged with honors.
He is survived by his loving partner, Iliana Perales; cousins, Joan Thompson, Linda Schultz, Roger Hansen and Mike Hansen.
He is predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and younger brother David. He was also predeceased by his aunts and uncles Harley and Ernest Thompson, Andy and Mike (Margaret) Wargo, Helen Thompson, Grace Engebretson, Doris Thompson, Hazel Bue and Florence Hansen and cousins Phyllis and Russell Engebretson.
