

John L. Wash, age 93, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. John was born on December 6, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. John graduated from the University of Santa Clara, where his love of football, both playing and watching began. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as an intelligent officer. For most of his career, 40+ years, John worked as the Western Regional District Manager in the Reprographics field.
His hobbies included family time, which included playing in the pool, horseback riding with the grandkids and being a spectator for every and any sport the grandkids participated in. He also loved playing golf and word search puzzles.
John was predeceased by his parents Frank and Kathryn Wash; his brother William “Jim” Wasko; his sister Kathleen Herzog and grandson Samuel L. Marston. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Catherine J. Miller-Wash; his children Margaret Anne Crites, spouse Timothy F. Crites, Mary Kathryn Marston, and Christopher John Miller; spouse Heidi Miller. His grandchildren include Benjamin F. Crites, Amanda A. Crites, Rachel A. Figuero, Tanner L. Marston, Eliseo Vigil-Miller, Autumn N. Woods, Benjamin I. Miller, and Olivia J. Collins. He has 5 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, along with cousins loved by him.
Graveside services for John will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of John may be made to Mountain View Hospice, 8263 W. Thunderbird Road, Suite 120, Peoria, AZ 85381.
