Our loving son and brother, Jonathan, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Good Friday, at the young age of 27. He was the loving son of Betty and Dennis Munzinger and brother of Nicholas and Joshua Munzinger. Jon was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, on May 16, 1985, but moved to Tempe, Arizona, as an infant.
Surviving loved ones also include three uncles, three aunts, numerous cousins, and his only living grandparent, Charles Robinson of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Nicholas’s wife, Erica, loved our son dearly as well as Angela Ortega, Josh’s girlfriend. Angelo Hardy, Frank Germann, Brian Moore, and Dane Backus were like brothers to him as well. He touched the lives of all who knew him.
Jon’s friends and family will miss his kindness, love, generosity, laughter, and music. A musical genius, Jon (Von) composed and performed songs on the keyboard and piano that could calm the souls of all listeners or rock the world for others. He has left this world but gone at last to a peace with God. May God and Lord Jesus Christ grant him entrance into the next world of peace and final happiness and serenity. The angels are greeting him with open arms and saying, “Welcome. Rock on, Von!”
There will be a Visitation at the Carr-Tenney Mortuary 2621 S. Rural Rd. in Tempe, Arizona Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with Funeral Mass on Friday 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church 3450 W. Ray Rd. Chandler, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in Jonathan’s memory at the Chase Bank on the corner of Guadalupe and McClintock.
