She was born in Las Cruces, NM on August 27, 1946. Josie graduated from Glendale High School and then went on to receive her cosmetology license. Josie was married to Joseph Hudspeth on December 30, 1972. Josie had one child (Jason) who was the center of her world; their close bond was undefinable.
Throughout her working career, Josie worked as a beautician at Eva Allen's Beauty Salon in downtown Glendale and a bus driver for the Cartwright School District. She also traveled the country, Canada, and Mexico as a truck driver for the U.S. Express Trucking Company, and as a tour bus driver for Tour West America. Later in her life, Josie drove for Dial-A-Ride, and was a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care.
Josie had a passion for all the people in her life, including her family, friends, and all the people she met along the way. She loved playing bunko and getting together with her girlfriends. Later in life, you could often find her scoping out deals at Costco or going for walks with Jason, or getting her nails done
She is survived by her son, Jason Hudspeth, and his husband Daniel Derendal, who loved living with her in their home in Phoenix., and taking care of her. She will be dearly missed by her neighbors, friends, and family members.
A visitation and celebration of life gathering for Josie will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
