I had the privilege of working with Joy for several years.  She was an incredible person and I will cherish the time I shared with her. My love and thoughts are with her family.

Dear Mr. Overman,

My name is Shari, I met you a few times in the late 90's.  Joy and I were roommates, I was in her 1st wedding, and most importantly we were friends.  Over the years as I moved away, and out of the country, we lost touch.  In the past two years we reconnected via Facebook.  

I found myself grieving for her again today and went back to read her obituary (saying that is still surreal).  The tribute you posted is one that all daughters hope to have said of them when they leave this life....thank you for the beautiful words.  Joy was kind, sincere, true and original.  There will never be another Joy in my life like her....I'm saddened beyond belief; surely it is marginal compared to the loss you, her mother, children, brother and husband feel. Our wonderful Joy was an outstanding mother!  She loved Chance and Payton so very very much.  She would do anything for her kids.  She gave them a strong foundation on which they can continue to build a happy life.

Our wonderful Joy was a loving wife.  Jeff and Joy were very good partners, friends and parents. They were a powerhouse team!

Our wonderful Joy was an overprotective sister.  She worried too much about her brother, Daniel.  She had very high expectations for him.  We're confident Daniel will exceed those!

Our wonderful Joy was very loving, caring and helpful daughter. Her love for her mother was unsurpassed!  She was always just a phone call and minutes away.  

Our wonderful Joy knew she could achieve anything she wanted.  She knew that some times it would not come easy.   She set her goals and she worked hard  and achieved them.  

Our wonderful Joy loved gardening and transformed her back yard from a barren lot to a wonderland of plants, pavers and family memories.

Our wonderful Joy was a fighter!  She fought her way through several medical procedures that were very painful.  

Our Joy was so wonderful, we are so very proud of her and we loved her dearly.   We have two loving and gifted grandchildren plus an exceptional son-in-law because of her.  We will love them as much as we love our wonderful daughter, Joy.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos and the beautiful memories you will always have of Joy. She was like a 2nd Mom to Kevin and she will be greatly missed. Jeff, you Chance & Payton are in our thoughts every day.

Such a sad loss. Joy will be missed by so many. She is not gone, but in spirit she will be with her loved ones until they meet again.

I met her through Dan a long time ago. I am happy to see she had a good life even though it was too short. I hope everyone can find peace during this sad time.

I did not know Joy.  However we share the same name, are of similar age, we look alike, and are both members of the Sierra club.  I feel a connection, and wanted to say how sorry I am for the grief your loved ones are left with.  She seemed to have been an amazing force in the life, for that we can all be thankful. So very saddened for your loss.   She was a beautiful person, inside and out. I have only the best memories of her and feel blessed she was a part of my life.  I am forever grateful for the friendship she shared with my daughter and the true "joy" she brought into our lives.

My heart is heavy.  I remember the dogs and jumping on the trampoline with her when I moved here from Minnesota.  She was and will always be a joy.

Joy was a wonderful person. I considered her as almost another mother. Almost every weekend I would come over to her house to spend time with my best friend Chance and she was always there for me to talk to and was a great friend. During my second year of high school she would always give me rides to school everyday and I was always appreciative of her generosity. Joy was genuinely one of the kindest people I met and its incredibly sad to see her go. Goodbye Joy, you will be greatly missed.

Jeff I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Even though I haven't seen you in years I love you to pieces.  Stay strong.  We are all here for you.
